For the second half of our 21 day fast, we would love to hear from you! How is your fast going? What is God saying to you? Any really cool stories of how God has showed up in your prayer time with Him? Let’s hear it!

“SLOW DOWN!!!!!!!!!”
That is what I sense God saying to me through this fast. The first 5 days—as far as denying myself certain foods–was a breeze. Having the week-long flu with no appetite will do that to a person!
However, during the lying-on-the-couch-high-fever-chills-coughin’-crud days that encompassed the first week of the fast, I realized just how long it had been since I slowed down; stopped; reflected rather than produced; contemplated rather than accomplished.
You see, sometimes we Jesus-followers are so busy serving God & loving it, that we don’t have time to simply love the God we serve.
So as my appetite slowly returns and denying myself the chosen foods gets harder, I remind myself to again slow down and turn to Him; the only true one who satisfies.
How about you? What is God showing you? I certainly hope it didn’t take a bout of the flu to get His message to penetrate your heart as well!!

I have been very humbled by my 6 year old’s decision to fast from all video games. He has used this time to not only pray and talk to God more but share with his friends and adults he talks to about why he is doing this. It warms my heart to know that our age does not limit what God can do in our lives! I have seen God use this time to teach him about temptation and gvie him a stronger desire to read his Bible. So thankful for this time as a church family…so thankful for the reminder of what an awesome God we serve!
